I think that this version would cater to a lot of people’s goals of StoryMaps, because sometimes the StoryMaps ArcGIS’s mapping software is not very intuitive–or at least I have not found it to be. This is a much simpler system but still accomplishes a lot effectively with a point on a map, a picture, a caption, a headline, and a textbox. Sometimes StoryMaps ArcGIS has too much on it, and seems to be focused on the website building over the map-building. I am really excited I did this one because I think it could come in handy for my personal Vivero Project this semester. I saw while sharing that I could embed it into a website and I have embedded it into this post.

Working through this by myself, with just the training, was not too bad. I feel very confident I could teach someone how to use this. I think it makes a lot of sense to users and creates very compelling narratives. I like the minimalist site, but still a lot of control over what information is presented. Having less “stuff” on the website makes it easier to really get to the heart of the content.

I made a StoryMaps for a portion of my life!
