New and Returning Fellows, please reflect in a blog post in your portfolio site on your project work so far, and on your plans for the rest of the semester after Fall Break (at least 300 words).

  • What have you accomplished?
  • What are your next steps?
  • What issues or obstacles have you encountered that you have resolved or that you are still thinking through?
  • What lingering questions do you have about the project or about your next steps?

If you are missing any trainings, now is the time to do them!

So far, I have put together a domain for the IGE Stories website and starting working on building the website. I have worked with the team of four in IGE to decide on a design and a “tree” through the website, how the website is navigated. We did this over wireframes I shared with them and pulling elements from other similarly functioning websites and over several meetings we have landed on a design that everyone is on board with. It took a lot of collaboration to get here so I feel really content with this accomplishment.

My next steps is I’m going to work on documentation while I wait for more content from the team and putting all my notes and directions into one cohesive space. I talked to my project leads about creating a media organization system and they were pretty responsive, and agreed to work on that: in the mean time, we are going to continue to work on creating a temporarily effective system that has enough information I can work with. This is also why it’s a good moment for me to condense my documentation. Ashley said she is a Qualtrics administrator so generating a survey wouldn’t be hard.

I’m still working on finding a way to get WordPress links to operate how I want to. I want to be able to tag them and then have them automatically generate on a corresponding page. I have researched some solutions but I will ask you about this at another meeting. It’s hard to know exactly where my problems would be at this point because I don’t have any content to play around with at this point. This is my biggest past/current problem but if you have any advice I’d appreciate it!
