Reflect in a blog post on your portfolio site on this experience of retaking a training because of new updates to a tool and on any feedback you have on the new training. How do you feel about needing to stay on top of new updates to tools you’ve already learned?

One reason I really like learning the new updates to tools I have already learned is a lot of these websites have crowd-sourced documentation that is really helpful to solving actual practical problems I have, and offering real-user suggestions so I trust that usually new updates are based on things that will be beneficial to me. It’s really important we are using trained on the newest versions of things because as a second-time Vivero Fellow I a) want to have an updated refresher on the software and b) want to have the most accurate impression because that is what people will come in and wonder how to use. I also really like that some of the softwares we use have different modes and let you elect to use the classic or the new version, but ArcGIS’s new version is definitely better in my opinion.

I don’t have any feedback on the ArcGIS training. As you know I love ArcGIS and have continued to use it in many of my classes and other projects outside of Vivero.
